How to Begin a Relationship with Christ
God created us to be with Him.
Revelation 3:20 "Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and fellowship with him and he with me."
Our sins separate us from God.
Isaiah 59:2 "But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear you."
Sins cannot be erased by good deeds.
Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace are you saved through faith - and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God - Not by works, lest any man should boast."
Paying the price for sin, Jesus died and rose again.
1 Corinthians 15:3-4 "For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures..."
Everyone who repents of sin will be saved.
Acts 3:19 "Repent, therefore, and turn to God, so that your sins may be blotted out..."
Life eternal comes to those who trust in Christ alone.
Acts 4:12 "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."
So if you believe these things, now what? How would God have you respond to begin a personal relationship with Him?
BELIEVE - "Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved." Acts 16:31
REPENT - "Repent, therefore, and turn to [Jesus] that your sins may be wiped out. Acts. 3:19
RECEIVE - "But as many as received Him [Jesus] to them he gave power to become the children of God. John 1:12
If you are ready to believe, repent of sin, and receive Jesus as your only hope of salvation, pray something like this: "Jesus, I know I'm a sinner. I know I've broken your laws. Please forgive me. I believe that you died on the cross and rose from the dead to pay for my sins. I give my life to you. I want to follow you. Please make me the person you want me to be." Amen.
