Short-term Missions

Mission Kenya:

A team of six were blessed to participate in an exciting mission adventure October 4-14, 2013.

The mission consisted of four prongs of ministry:

  • Church ministry.  On two Sundays, team members participated in Nairobi churches through preaching, teaching, and testifying.
  • Discipleship training ministry.  We spent two days participating with 30+ Kenyan pastors, pastors wives, and other church leaders as part of a “Relational Discipleship Experience.”  What a grand experience as we saw “the light come on” in the hearts and minds of these Kenyan church leaders for how they could use relational discipleship to train their disciples to be disciple-makers!
  • Orphanage ministry.  Our hearts were torn as we ministered with some 170 orphans and heard their stories of abuse and tragedy.  During this time, the greatest impact was the impact God did in the hearts of our team members.
  • Evangelism ministry.  We will never tire of sharing the greatest story ever told—the story of salvation through Jesus!  God blessed our efforts bringing many to faith in Christ!

This was the second Parkway mission trip to the continent of Africa, following 2012’s mission trip to Ghana.  What a blessing!  Truly, we were ungirded on the wings of prayer.  To God be the glory, great things He hath done!

Seoul, South Korea:

A Parkway team has made an annual trip to Seoul, South Korea since 2003. They partner with Korean Christians, members of Calvary Baptist Church in Seoul, to make evangelistic visits in the city. While there is much religion in Korea (Confucianism, Buddhism, and

Christianity), many Koreans the team encounter have never heard the story of Jesus. During the six trips, over 3,000 people have prayed to receive Jesus as their Savior. The team also has made it their mission to encourage the people of Calvary Baptist Church and their pastor and staff. Another trip is tentatively planned for the fall. If you are interested in participating, please see Benny Hagie.

Cherkassy, Ykraine:

Prior to war breaking out in Ukraine, we were blessed to send two teams to minister in Cherkassy, Ukraine.  The first team served in Ukraine in October 2019.  The second team served in October 2021.  Both teams shared the Gospel by personal, pre-arranged appointments.  And both team led discipleship training events.  We worked with Pastor Benjamin who pastors two churches.  Lord willing, we hope to return to Ukraine someday.   In the meantime, we hope to continue to send teams to Poland to work with Ukrainian refugees.
